The Beginning

  Today marks the beginning of my 29th year on earth. And lately I have been thinking about what I am passionate about... what do I love.... what comes easily to me. Two things stand out... writing and food. I love food. Absolutely, Completely and Fully. I am intrigued by it. It fascinates me and delights me. Something that can be so incredibly simple can be so very amazing. A small ritual preformed daily has the ability to unite even the most different of people. It can bring about companionship, friendship, and even love. Cooking relaxes and centers me... it calms me when I am stressed... I should cook more. Trying new foods excites me. Exploring new restaurants is one of my favorite past-times and one of my absolute favorite things about traveling. Combine this with my love of writing... and the fact that I love to talk about food and places I have tried... and the result is this blog.
  
In trying to decide what to name this new idea of mine.. I enlisted the resources of my younger sister. While some of her... and her friends suggestions were hilarious... and I loved one of them particularly... it wouldn't have quite appealed to the masses ... (if you wanna know just ask me ;) ) . However after nixing my idea of the "adventures of a wanna-be foodie" as too cliche... and me relenting and agreeing... she threw out this title. The Incurable Epicure. So in an effort to make sure that the name was not just kitchy... or fancy sounding.. I looked up the definition of both words just to gain a complete and full understanding and to see if it fit me. Merriam- Webster defines Incurable as "not likely to be changed or corrected". Epicure means "one devoted to sensual pleasure" and "one with sensitive and discriminating tastes especially in food and wine". Perfect! My love of food has no hope of changing or going away and since eating and food entice and use all the sense what better description is there.

  So what exactly about food do I plan on writing about you ask? My idea as of now is to write about the experiences I have. Whether that be where I eat or what I cook. And expand and grow from there. Hopefully learn more and find new places that I love to go. And maybe get some other to try new things as well. So here's a toast to a new year... a new venture... new places.... new food.... and fun trying it all!
